It is obviously preferable to import files directly from your steel detailing software because it eliminates an unnecessary step and also eliminates possible incorrect data capture. There are two separate and distinct camps in this respect:

CNC Beam Drill Line beam processing solutions are extremely efficient. It requires only 70ft x nineft of floor space, making it suitable for small fabricators or those with limited space. There are also many CNC Beam Drill Lines that can be installed outside, which frees up more space for the fabricator.

To ensure smooth operation and low maintenance, our beam drill machine machines come with linear guides and central lubrication. A 4-station tool changer is included in each coordinate system. It allows it to drill/mill, scribe/counter sink or tap as necessary. The tools can also be changed easily mid-operation. An arm attached to the rack and pinion on the feed conveyor is used to position the beam while it passes through the drill. Our steel beam drill lines are much more accurate that friction roller machines.

Renishaw 5Axis Calibration – The calibration unit used is a Renishaw model APCA45 and a modified spherical pen. It has a retractable cover that can be removed and an air purge that will remove any dust or debris from the device during activation. It is mounted to a swingarm controlled by a pneumaticrotary. The device swings into calibration for calibration only.
